Museum & Gallery
The McManus is Dundee’s principal museum and an excellent example of Sir George Gilbert Scott’s gothic revival style from 1867, now Grade 1 listed.
The museum has undergone a series of radical alterations to remove more than forty years of insensitive additions and internal accretions to reveal the original galleries and restore original proportions and arrangements.
We carried out the redesign of the museum’s displays and interiors through six refurbished galleries, including creating new public circulation areas, new reception and a substantial restaurant. Our work began with the development of successful Stage 1 and Stage 2 HLF bids and the museum, to critical acclaim tells the story of Dundee’s people, culture and industry.
